Before You Start, understand that DSL works a bit different than dial-up access. This page gives you the information you need to begin the process of getting connected to DSL. For optimum use of DSL from us, we recommend these system configurations. The first section is a list of the hardware and software you'll need.

Make sure you have the following items available before you start your DSL installation:

Recommended

  • Intel or equivalent Pentium MMX or Pentium II at 133 MHz or faster
  • Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0/2000
  • Memory Requirement: -Windows 95-98 - 32 MB -Windows NT 4.0/2000 - 64 MB
  • Hard drive with 200 MB available
  • Super VGA monitor (800X600 pixels) at 64K colors or more
  • 10 base-T Ethernet Adapter
  • CD ROM

You'll need to have an Ethernet Adapter installed in your computer and configured (this is not included with sign-up). Also known as a "10 Base T Network Interface Card" and can be purchased online or from stores that sell computer equipment, such as Circuit City, or Best Buy, e.t.c. When you purchase an Ethernet Adapter, you have a few installation options:

  • Install it yourself.

  • Take your computer to a local computer store to have the adapter installed.

It really is easier than it sounds, but if you have questions about any of the system requirements for DSL, please contact us, We'll be happy to help.
